Finally....

Good news guys, finally the projector and the big screen are already installed at my restaurant. So, if any of you want to watch premier league games sat nite, feel free to come down at Kaka Restaurant at Rimba. Too bad, it was raining tonite, we were only able to try the projector for only 30 minutes before the downpour. So, hopefully, it will not rain tomorrow (Im praying ni inside my heart...). But, if it rain jua esok, what to do, i cannot go against the force of nature. That's why in future, I will install the roof in front of my restaurant so that the show could go on despite rain come down (provided astro still on..:), you know lah that astro won't work if its rain heavily).
Ok guys, lets us pray together it won't rain tomorrow..:)

Gerai Nasi Katok KAKA at Salambigar

I went to my stall at Salambigar last nite because I had to interview my new workers. It was quite busy when I arrived there so I had to help my workers too so as the customers did not have to wait too long for their nasi katok. I remembered when I just opened the gerai at Salambigar last 2 years, I did not have enough workers so my husband and me had to go there every day from 12 pm to 1.30 pm and also from 6 pm till 10 pm. It was so tiring yet fun cos I got to know lots of my customers. The sad thing was, we had to leave our princesses with our amah most of the time. But, when I was there last nite, I felt like different cos there are more customers who are new whom I never met before. Anyway, it was more than a year already since the last time I had to be there at my gerai due to the shortage of workers. I miss it though..:)

Sorry....still no projector yet..:)

Hello guys.. I did mention that there will be a projector and a big screen install in my restaurant this weekend. Well, Im so sorry it did not happen as per planning due to some unavoidable circumstances. I was told that it can only be install next week so hopefully it will be ready before the weekend. Im crossing my fingers again at this moment but my husband and me are chasing the vendor to install the projector and the screen asap. So, sorry again guys for not being able to do as I promised.

Upgrading of Kaka Restaurant

additional tables & chairs
new spot lightside view of Kaka Restaurant after the installation of the spot light

To cater for the increasing number of customers (tq for all your support), I have decided to add more tables and chairs for my restaurant but these are only available during evening time (5pm onwards) provided it is not raining. Anyway, in future, depending on the budget, I will install roof in front of my restaurant so that customers can sit there even if it is raining. Apart from the tables and chairs, I had also install spot light on the side of my restaurant to light up the restaurant cos all this time it is quite dark if you view the restaurant form the road. I even have customers complaining that they could not see clearly the restaurant once they enter the junction no 8, so that's why I decided to install the spot light.
For all the football fanatics, in few days time (if everything goes smoothly), there will be a big screen and projector for Kaka Restaurant. So, if you are looking for a place to watch the premier league, you are most welcome to come to Kaka Restaurant esp during live matches for Man Utd ( my team...hehehe....) and also Liverpool (my husband's team). Im trying to chase the vendor and the contractor to install the projector and the screen asap and if possible this weekend (fingers crossed...:). I know my husband is looking forward to this weekend to watch Liverpool vs Chelsea. Hahaha.....cant wait to see the results of that encounter. Anyway, before I signed of for now, i just want to say this to all my respected customers:
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT SO FAR AND HOPE THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE IT. WE WILL TRY OUR BEST TO IMPROVE IN ALL AREAS IN ORDER TO GIVE SATISFACTION TO YOU ALL.

Additional Menu for Breakfast & Tea Time

To our respected customer, starting from today we have added new menu for breakfast from 8 am to 11 am and for tea time from 2 pm to 5 pm. You are welcome to try our Tumpi + kari daging for only $1. Also available are traditional kuih-muih.

Fuad & Faid's Birthday Celebrations

"here comes the cake...""who has the biggest smile?" n the winner is....my four angels ready to sing b'day songthe twins getting ready to cut their b'day cake
as usual, my wanie "intu-intu" cake org, cant wait for her turn kojek doing the food tasting (that's what he told us..)

On the 16th was my nephew, Fuad & Faid birthday. Well, it coincided with my eldest sis 2nd open house (she already had open house on the 2nd day of Raya). Since this time her open house was only for our family (both her family & her hubby's family) so my other nieces & nephews decided to throw a surprise party for the twins. I was not too sure whether it was a surprise party or not coz the twins seems to know there would be a party for them. Anyway, congrates to them for their 9th birthday. May Allah bless them and fulfill their wishes and dreams.

Open House

Every Syawal, I prefer my friends to come and visit me during my open house rather than just waiting for them on any other days not knowing who will come or when they are coming. I know its tiring but the joy that I had during my open house overcome all that. I had my open house on Saturday the 12th of Oct. Hehehe....I know that I was supposed to post these photos earlier but, due to my laziness and limited time, I only managed to update my blog recently...(reasons again...hahaha...). It was indeed very tiring compared to previous year because now I have my restaurant to look after. The good thing is, I have my own chef so I could order any dishes that I want. Most of my friends came that day but too bad I didnt manage to take all their photos coz I had to entertain the others. My open house that Saturday was only for my friends and I had another open house the next day on Sunday just for my in-laws so that I could always entertained them.
This year, my open house ended with something different, my family had ambuyat sessions for the closing. It was late becos by the time we started having ambuyat, it was already past midnight and my brother who was the last person to leave the house left at quarter to 3 am! What a day! So, I was very tired the next day and I did not wake up late the next day coz I have to go to my restaurant at 9 am. Mind you that at 1 pm it was my in-laws. So, when my in-laws left, I couldnt take it anymore. I was engulfed by the ZZZ monster (again...) and by the time I woke up, it was nearly 10 pm. My day did not end there cos as usual, I went to my restaurant at 11 pm for regular check-up. So, it was a very tiring weekend for me, nevertheless, I really enjoyed it.

Take-Away Counter

Due to the popular demand for Nasi Katok at my restaurant and also to lessen the congestion in the kitchen, I have decided to install a counter for Nasi Katok only especially for customers who want to 'tapau' Nasi Katok Kaka. This is also to provide a faster service for take-away customers. So, datang lah, jangan malu-malu..:)

On the 2nd day of Raya, together with my other siblings, we visited our late father's grave. This is the 3rd Raya without him and we all still feel the loss. We miss him very much. His dedications towards raising all 9 of us, his undying love and how he cared for us will remain forever in our hearts. We still feel the warmth of his love as if he is still here among us. May Allah Al-Mighty bless him. Amin...

Happy Birthday KAKA

Kaka's birthday cake
with all her sisters tapi look who's behind them? hehehe....
getting ready to blow the candles and made a wish, wonder what was her wish..:)
wanie: "next party is mine..hahaha...." (18th Dec) - mun paham, bisai..:)

'lady' in red
Last 30th Sept was my eldest princess, Nur Syaza Syaqirah or KAKA's birthday. She is now 7 yrs old. Time passed by so quickly. I still remember cuddling her in my arm when she was still a baby. Her birthday party was celebrated on the 1st day of raya around 9pm. Actually I did not have any plan for her because I was so busy (excuses again...;) and she is now 7 yrs old already. But, having celebrated her birthday party every year, she kept asking me when would we celebrated her birthday. When I said no party for her this year, she was crying and began to point that all her other sisters' birthday were celebrated every year. In fact she was wrong on this matter, being the eldest, her birthday was celebrated every year and never once missed but her 2 younger sisters, Syasya and Syura, they did not have their 1st and 2nd birthday party, only when they were 3 yrs old then they started to celebrate their party. Pity them but obviously, Kaka never wanted to listen to my argument and still insisted on her birthday party. She said she wanted to get presents form her aunties and uncles and cousins. So, having left with no choices I agreed to her request and celebrated her birthday party few days late than usual i.e on the 1st day of Raya.

Now, she is 7 years old already

1st Syawal

no baju kurung for my princesses this year so I had to buy dress for them

Hehehe....I was supposed to post this few days ago but, :) *lol*. Anyway, no more excuses for now, here I go. Raya this year is not as grand as previous Raya for me, maybe because of my commitments or maybe because of my age. I dont really enjoy Raya as much as I did few years back. 1st day Syawal, early morning around 9ish, there was no electricity at my house and few houses nearby. Reason, some idiots stole the cable at the substation near my house at Madang. So, you guys just imagine how my Raya this year started, not good eh. I was sweating and my princesses also complaining because of the heat so around 10am, we went to Tutong to my mom-in-law's house. Along the way to Penapar, both of us (my hubby & me) had to keep talking because we were so tired and sleepy and by talking was the only way to keep awake. How I wished at that time I was still in bed....:)
We were quite early this year so we had to wait for my other in-laws. My father-in-law passed away few months back so the environment was quite sobber as we still felt the loss *Al-Fatihah* (May his soul rest in peace and di rahmati Allah, same goes to my late father). While we were there, we decided to take some photos but guessed what, my camera batteries went frat (auntie may's slang...hehehe....). So, no photos were taken by us, only by my in-laws. I will try to get the photos from them next time. Nothing much happened there. We went back around 12 pm and when we reached home, most of my siblings were already there. Around 3pm, I couldnt hold it any longer, the ZZZ monster attacked was so much and I had no other choice but to go to my room and took a nap. I had to take the nap anyway bcos that night was the birthday celebration for my eldest princess, Nur Syaza Syaqirah aka KAKA, which I will cover in the next post. Till then, adios...

To all our valued customers, I just want to apologise for not being able to stick to my promise regarding the re-opening of my restaurant which was supposed to open last Monday. Again, due to short of staff (because 2 of my Bruneians quit just before Raya and the other 2 want a longer Raya holiday.....typical Bruneians, isn't it?) so I had no choice but to delay the re-opening of my restaurant. We just opened today but I have to adjust the business time. For the time being, Kaka Restaurant & Catering Services only open from 11 am until 12 midnight with exception on Sat nite if there are live football matches.
Now, reasons...reasons...reasons..., I wonder what was the real reason for me not to update my blog until my sis who is in spore sms me and told me to update the blog bcos she had nothing to read since her hobby now is SURFING THE INTERNET..(hahaha....uyals...). Should I stated that I was too busy? (which was quite a lame excuse, right?) Or due to the fact that I lost my usb cable to download the photos form my digi cam to the comp? Or should I own up that I was too lazy to update the blog? hehehehe....*lol*. I leave it to all of you to choose which reason that you want to accept. *jgn mare ah*
Anyway, I have lots and lots of photos that I wanted to share here esp for org spore to see but again, not for the first time, my "M" sickness struck me so I will post it another time, Insya Allah....:)

At last...Hari Raya Esok

Hmmm.... where do I start? I have been very very busy for the last few days until I have no time to update this blog, if fact I just visited my own blog yesterday! My God...busy banar kali ah. The last few days puasa, alhamdulillah, rezeki mencurah-curah, I have lots of customers coming to my restaurant and also my two gerai. And again because of lack of staff, I had to turun padang jua so you guys just imagined that I had to go to Rimba, then Lambak and also to Salambigar just to make sure everything went smooth but I have to admit, ada jua lah sikit kepincangan. Im not a robot (I wished I could be mcm Will Smith in I-Robot) hehehe.... so that I have more energy to handle my business.
Anyway, the time kan kana announced whether the moon was sighted or not, I was so nervous. I did not want the moon to be sighted bcoz firstly, I havent done any preparations yet at my house for Hari Raya due to my commitment to my business, and secondly, if not Raya meaning more income, hahaha.... So I was really really gratefull when it was announced the moon was not sighted. At least I have time to do the preparations on the last day of Ramadhan. Actually I anticipated already that I would be very busy these last few days of Ramadhan but I never expected it would be very very busy when compared from the previous years. The reception I got from my restaurant at Rimba exceeded my expectations. I always had full house during sungkai buffet and also after 10pm onwards. Thanks again to Allah Al-Mighty. I even had to ask my niece to bring my princesses out bcoz I have no time for them (tq mymy n gal). Its not that I neglected them, its just that as a businesswoman, this is the time for me to make money. Furthermore, I do all these things bcoz of my family too.
Lastly, I would love to take this oppurtunity to all my valued customers and wished all of Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin. Tq also for all your support and constructive comments. I will try to improve accordingly. And I also would like to inform that during Hari Raya, the business for my restaurant and gerai are as follows:
  • Kaka Restaurant & Catering Services: closed on the last day of puasa and will be open next Monday
  • Gerai Nasi Katok at Lambak & Salambigar: close 1st & 2nd Hari Raya
